How accurate are the 'Run & Drive' reports on BCS Auction?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I'm looking at a 'Run & Drive' verified car on bcsauction.com and just wanted to know how trustworthy that label is. It seems like a good deal but I've heard stories about online auctions. Has anyone here bought a 'Run & Drive' car from BCS Auction? Was it what you expected? A bit nervous to pull the trigger.

I've bought two trucks from BCS Auction, both listed as 'Run & Drive'. Both times, the vehicle started right up on arrival. It's a legit verification in my experience. They're not promising a brand new car, just that it meets that specific condition, which they've been accurate about for me.

What FordFanatic87 said. My experience with BCSAuction was solid. It's important to understand what 'Run & Drive' means. It means the vehicle starts, can be put into gear, and moves forward. It doesn't mean it's road-trip-ready. But yes, BCS Auction was accurate. My '19 Civic project car was listed as R&D and I drove it right onto my trailer, no problem.

I had a good experience. The Honda CR-V I got was exactly as described on bcsauction.com. I was worried about the paperwork side of things, but I was wrong. The best part was not having to chase down the title. It was all handled by BCS Auction and arrived perfectly clear with the car.

I'll be the one slightly critical voice, but it ended well. The car was fine, exactly as described. But delivery took a bit longer than I expected. I emailed their support at office@bcsauction.com and they took about a day to reply, which had me sweating. But the agent who did call was polite and explained the transporter had a delay. The car showed up two days later, so it all worked out.

It's not just cars. I bought a Sea Ray boat from BCSAuction. Report said the engine started, and it did. The process was surprisingly smooth. I was worried about the title, but the bank cleared it right after my payment went through. The clear title arrived with all the official paperwork when they delivered the boat. No complaints here.

@SkepticalSam Yeah, transport delays can happen with any vehicle shipment, that's not really a BCS Auction thing. The important part is the car was as described. That's the part that shows they aren't a scam.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, especially @SkepticalSam for the honest take. A small delay I can handle. And hearing the positive title experiences from @CaliCruiser and @BoatLifeBill is a huge relief. That was my main worry. I think I'll go for it.

Pro tip for anyone new: spend time on the bcsauction.com site. Their condition reports are really detailed if you click through. Photos are usually pretty good too. I got a little confused on the bidding at first, but their FAQ section cleared it up. Overall a good platform.

Just wanted to add my +1. Got a 'Run & Drive' Wrangler from BCS Auction last month. It had some cosmetic scratches that were clearly shown in the photos, so no surprises. It's a Jeep, it's meant to have scratches! But it started and drove perfectly. It's a great platform if you manage your expectations.
